Bus falls into ravine, 10 studes hurt

SAN FERNADO CITY, La Union – An AJA transport bus with 52 students of Muñoz National High School, Roxas, Isabela fell into a ravine along the national highway, Ba­rangay Old Poblacion, Burgos, La Union yesterday.

Ten students were hurt and rushed to the Naguilian District Hospital for medical treatment.

Police Inspector Mario Do­mon­don, chief of police said the students are from Isabela and were traveling to La Union via Baguio City for an excursion.

The AJA bus driven by Jose Isidro lost its brakes while traversing the zig-zag road and careened, causing the accident which injured 10 students.

Laila Angga one of the injured passengers told police that they are lucky the bus did not fall to the ravine or they could have met an untimely death.  – Vic Alhambra Jr.
