Typhoon 'Ineng' continues on to Taiwan

Typhoon 'Ineng' (international codename: Krosa) on Saturday has maintained its course and continues to move closer to Northern Taiwan, according to the Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA).
 
The typhoon's center is located 330 kms north-northeast of Basco, Batanes or 300 kms southeast of Taipei, Taiwan.
 
It has strength of maximum sustained winds of 185 kph near the center and gustiness of up to 220 kph.  It is currently moving northwest at 15 kph.
 
The weather agency said the typhoon will be 400 kms north-northeast of Basco, Batanes or 170 kms southeast of Taipei, Taiwan by this afternoon and 60 kms north-northeast of Taipei, Taiwan by Sunday morning.

Areas having public storm warning signal include signal no. 2 (60-100 kph winds) over the Batanes group of islands and signal no. 1
(30-60 kph winds) over the Babuyan and Calayan islands.

All public storm warning signals elsewhere are now lowered.
