Report: Unidentified gunmen slay Laguna vice-mayor

The vice-mayor of Lumban town in Laguna province was gunned down by two motorcycle-riding men Thursday morning, according to media reports.

Lumban vice-mayor Zaldy Raga was traveling together with his wife Belen on board an Isuzu van when the two attacked him on the national road in Pagsanjan around 7:45 a.m.

Raga managed to shoot back, wounding one of the gunmen, but was also hit multiple times.  The official died on the spot.

Currently, the police have set up checkpoints around Pagsanjan and nearby towns to look for the assailants.
