Former mayor’s kin gunned down in Batangas

Camp Miguel Malvar, – A 31-year-old plant manager who is also a nephew of a former town mayor was shot and killed by two motorcycle-riding gunmen in Batangas  City early Monday morning, police said.

Superintendent Christo­pher Tambungan, Batangas police chief identified the fatality as Jerry Chua , resident of Sitio 2, Barangay Balanga, Ibaan town in Batangas province and plant manager of the Comeo Logistics Services Philippine Corp. in Sto. Tomas town.

The report said Chua was also a nephew of former Ibaan town mayor Artemio Chua.

Investigations said Chua was driving along General Carpio Street in Barangay Kumintang Ibaba on board a Honda CRV (WTL 224) when two gunmen waylaid him around 2:20 a.m.   – Arnell Ozaeta
