Reyes to lure Asean power investors

Energy Secretary Angelo Reyes will look to negotiate with investors from the ASEAN region for investment opportunities in the Philippine power sector.

Reyes is attending the ASEAN Energy Business Forum (AEBF) in Singapore, where he will pitch for the entry of more investments into the Philippine energy sector.

He said the forum will provide government energy officials and power generation players from the private sector the platform to address issues affecting energy investments in the region.

Reyes is scheduled to elaborate on the intensive efforts being made by the government   to secure long-term power sector investments that can drive economic stability, growth and sustainability in the country.

He is also expected to touch on the privatization efforts of the government in the power sector, as well as the investment opportunities that abound in energy generation and transmission.
