GAZA CITY (AFP) - One Hamas militant was killed and two others wounded Tuesday during an incursion by Israeli tanks near the southern town of Khan Yunis in the Gaza Strip, Palestinian security officials said.
The three, members of the Ezzedine al-Qassam Brigades, the armed wing of Hamas, encountered the Israeli tanks near the Kissufim border crossing.
The death brings to 5,812 the number of people killed since the start of the Palestinian uprising in September 2000, the vast majority of them Palestinian, according to an AFP count.
