DAVAO CITY – President Arroyo is pinning her hopes on the Brunei, Indonesia, Malaysia and the Philippines-East Asean Growth Area  (BIMP-EAGA) geo-economic integration to bring about peace, growth and development in Mindanao.

Mindanao and Palawan are among the component areas of the BIMP-EAGA, formally formed in 1994 and which also includes East Malaysia, East Indonesia, and Brunei Darussalam.

The economic cooperation among the sub-national economies gives Mindanao access to more than 57 million consumers of the EAGA market.
