Opposition senators question Trillanes' absence in sessions
Opposition senators on Monday raised the issue of Senator Antonio Trillanes IV's inability to attend senate sessions while in military detention.
In particular, Minority leader Aquilino Pimentel, Jr. introduced Resolution 22 expressing the sense of the Senate that Trillanes be allowed to participate in the sessions and other functions of the Senate.
Likewise, Senator Manuel Roxas II and Rodolfo Biazon inquired Trillanes would be entitled to the same rights and privileges as everyone else present, according to media reports.
Senator Juan Ponce-Enrile, who took over the Senate presidency after Villar opened the session, said that Trillanes would be entitled to all rights and privileges of a senator as provided in the Constitution.
