MIAA named ‘most disabled-friendly’ agency

-

The Philippine Foundation for the Rehabilitation of the Disabled, Inc. has named the Manila International Airport Authority (MIAA) as the most dis-abled-friendly government agency for giving disabled passengers top priority.

The award was given in celebration of the 29th National Disability Prevention and Rehabilitation Week as provided for under Administrative Order 35 dated May 3, 2002 and signed by President Arroyo.

This year’s celebration, which is centered on the theme “Kapag May Access, May Success,” highlights the nation’s efforts towards disability prevention and the integration of persons with disabilities into the mainstream of society, as mandated under Republic Act 7277, otherwise known as Magna Carta for Disabled Persons.
