SONA rallies OK'd

Quezon City Mayor Feliciano Belmonte Jr. said that protesters will be allowed to stage their rallies on Monday, when President Arroyo will deliver her State of the Nation Address (SONA).

He said the rallyists will be allowed to converge in front of the St. Peter’s Church along Commonwealth Avenue.

Belmonte also assured that the city government will issue permits to any group seeking to hold a rally on Monday.

He made the assurance during a visit by Mrs. Arroyo in Quezon City this morning.

Manuel Sabalza, chief of the Department of Public Order and Safety (DPOS), the rallyists will be allowed to hold their programs at the Ever Gotesco area dur-ing the SONA.
