Rockwell Land to spend P1B for 3 BPO bldgs in Pasig

- Donnabelle L. Gatdula -

The National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) recently filed murder charges against a high-ranking police official in Southern Luzon and 14 others before the Office of the Ombudsman for allegedly killing three policemen in a rub-out operation in Cabuyao, Laguna last Dec. 29.

NBI Director Nestor Mantaring filed the charges against Senior Inspector Ronaldo Lumactod Jr., of the Regional Special Operations Group (RSOG) of the Philippine National Police (PNP) Region 4-A based at Camp Vicente Lim in Calamba, Laguna. Also charged were 14 unidentified persons.

The NBI said they were unable to identify the 14 other suspects because PNP personnel refused to furnish them with copies of the personal data sheet of the other RSOG members.

RSOG chief Superintendent Roger James Brillantes claimed that PO2 Michael Aguado, PO2 Siegmund Alan Jael, and PO1 Rolan Patag died during a shootout with responding authorities. It was reported that the three victims were engaged in robbery-extortion.

The filing of the criminal case stemmed from the complaint filed by the victims’ relatives. It appeared that on Dec. 26, Gliceria Aldave filed a complaint before the RSOG in Southern Luzon against four men who reportedly introduced themselves as police operatives and allegedly tried to extort P100,000 and a “Christmas gift” of P5,000 from her.

But in the report submitted by Special Investigator Vonbar Lluisma of the NBI-Special Task Force, he said, “Verification conducted on the identities of those alleged police extortionist showed that they were not really operatives of the RSOG.”
