Arroyo presides over command conference on school opening
JERUSALEM (AFP) - An Israeli civilian died on Sunday in the southern town of Sderot by a rocket fired by Palestinian militants in Gaza, the second such deadly attack in less than a week, medics and police said.
The man, who police said was in his mid 30s, died of his wounds in hospital after a rocket crashed into the car he was driving in Sderot, which has borne the brunt of projectiles fired from the lawless territory.
His name was not immediately available. A woman was also wounded in Sderot as several projectiles landed in the town.
In Gaza, the Ezzedine Al-Qassam Brigades, the armed wing of the Islamist Hamas movement, claimed responsibility for the attack.
