Blast mars drinking spree

BUTUAN CITY – Tragedy marred a boisterous drinking spree of a group of miners in Cabadbaran, Agusan del Norte Friday when a grenade, which one of them was toying with, went off, killing one and injuring another, police said.

Chief Superintendent Antonio Nañas, Caraga police director, identified the fatality as Ritche Enrique, a small-scale miner in the Puting Bato area, and his injured colleague as Dendy Darlo, who is now confined at the Butuan City Medical Center. – Ben Serrano
