Sheng Wi Xian, who goes by the aliases Kevin and Shi Chun Huan, was arrested by police in a buy-bust operation almost five years ago.
Judge Jaime Samonte, of the Bulacan Regional Trial Court, found Sheng guilty of selling, possessing and transporting about four kilos of shabu, which were seized from him by the police during the sting operation.
Sheng, a native of Ho Quien, China, took up residency in Las Piñas City.
According to court records, on May 19, 2002, Sheng met with an undercover police officer posing as a shabu buyer.
The two agreed to make the deal outside a fastfood restaurant on Quentin Paredes street in Manila, but Sheng noticed that they were being tailed.
They then moved to another fastfood outlet in Las Piñas but the transaction did not push through, as the Chinese drug dealer was wary that the police were watching.
Finally, he agreed to make the deal in front of an Equitable Bank branch in Meycauayan, Bulacan. Police officers pounced on him after the transaction.
Sheng is one of the high-profile drug traffickers convicted by the Bulacan court in years.
