Antipolo exec, driver survive ambush

The Antipolo City administrator and his driver survived an ambush by four motorcycle-riding men shortly past noon yesterday while they were on their way to the City Hall annex building.
Police said one of the four men opened fire thrice at the Toyota Innova of lawyer Gilbert Lauengco but failed to hit him and his driver-bodyguard, Marvin Villanueva, in Barangay De la Paz.
Lauengco had just come from a meeting and was en route to the City Hall annex building in Barangay Mayamot for another appointment when he was waylaid at about 12:30 p.m. – Non Alquitran
