CABARROGUIS, Quirino – President Arroyo is expected to visit this province tomorrow reportedly to unify her political allies earlier reported to be gearing up for a face-off in the May elections.
Mrs. Arroyo is also gracing the 68th birthday celebration of Bayombong Bishop Ramon Villena, one of her known closest allies in the Catholic Church.
The President’s visit is also meant to boost the campaign of the administration’s Team Unity senatorial slate in traditionally opposition region, a party leader said.
Rep. Junie Cua (Liberal Party-Atienza wing) and last-term Gov. Pedro Bacani (Lakas-CMD) are vying for the lone congressional district, while Cua’s son, Vice Gov. Dakila Cua, is girding for a showdown with Bacani’s bet, former governor Josie Co, in the gubernatorial race. – Charlie Lagasca
