Septuagenarian charged of rape

HERMOSA, Bataan A 74-year-old storeowner was arrested yesterday for the alleged rape of a 14-year old girl who was asked by her mother to buy a broom in Barangay Mambog, this town.
Chief Inspector Luisito Magnaye, head of the Provincial Intelligence and Investigation Branch (PIIB) at Camp Cirilo Tolentino, police provincial headquarters, identified the suspect as Alberto Sioson, of Sitio Sipit-Sipit, Barangay Mambog, Hermosa.
Police report showed that PO2 Maria Jessamina Mina, of the Womens and Childrens Concern Desk (WCCD) of the Hermosa municipal police station who investigated the case said the victim was asked to buy a broom at Siosons house at about 3:30 p.m. last Thusday.
While inside the store, Sioson dragged the victim to a room and forced her to undress despite the pleading of the girl.
The suspect is now facing rape charges in relation to Republic Act 7610 or known as the Anti-Child Abuse Law before the Provincial Prosecutors Office. Raffy Viray
