Ranking communist officer captured

CAMP OLIVAS, Pampanga — Combined police operatives arrested on Wednesday a ranking officer of the CPP-NPA with a P400,000 reward on his head at Sitio Daan Mestizo, West Daan, Samal, Bataan.

Chief Supt. Ismael Rafanan, Police Regional Office-3 director, identified the suspect as Rafael Limcumpao with aliases Jeeboy/Pakoy/Gemo, secretary of the Marxista Leninista Partido ng Pilipinas/Rebolusyonaryong Hukbong Bayan (MLPP/RHB).

The suspect is a most wanted person in Central Luzon with a reward amounting to P400,000 for the crime of murder with robbery, said Rafanan.

He said that operatives of the Bataan police, Regional Intelligence Office and Regional Intelligence and Investigation Division (RIID) raided the house of Limcumpao armed with a warrant of arrest.

The suspect listed in the Order of Battle list and member of the Manila Bay Coastal Wide Area Front Committee of the RHB was forced to surrender to the raiding team.

Limcumpao is presently detained at the Bataan provincial jail, police said. — Ric Sapnu
