After 8 mos. in hiding, fugitive rearrested

TUGUEGARAO CITY, Cagayan After eight months on the lam, one of four inmates who bolted the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP) quarters in a remote eastern town here last March was re-arrested earlier this week by operatives of the Cagayan polices provincial mobile group (PMG).
Chief Superintendent Jefferson Soriano, Cagayan Valley police director, yesterday identified the escapee as Emilio Soriano, 42, of Baggao, Cagayan, who is facing double homicide charges before the Regional Trial Court here.
Police said Soriano, not related to the former, along with three others, who have yet to be re-arrested had escaped from their cells at the BJMP in Baggao town last March 6.
According to the police, who also vowed to have the other suspects arrested soon, the escapee Soriano, had in his possession a homemade firearm, otherwise known as paltik, when re-arrested by police. Charlie Lagasca
