Sketches of labor leader’s gunmen released

CAMP VICENTE LIM, Laguna — Authorities released yesterday the artist’s sketches of two of the four alleged gunmen in the killing of militant labor leader Andrew Iñoza and the wounding of a civilian in an ambush in San Pedro, Laguna, on Nov 21.

The assassins, described by witnesses as aged 25, 5’2’ to 5’3’’ tall, both of medium built, dark and white complexioned, were armed with a caliber .45.

Police are still checking whether these two gunmen are members of a gun-for-hire syndicate or members of organized crime groups.

The Police Regional Command has created the other day a special investigation task group (SITG) to investigate the murder of Iñoza, leader of the militant labor group Partido ng Manggagawa in the first district of Laguna.

Chief Supt. Nicasio Radovan, regional police director, tasked Supt. Sergio Dimandal, chief of the San Pedro police station, as the SITG Iñoza commander, while the National Bureau Investigation (NBI) and Criminal Investigation and Detection Group 4A (CIDG4A) headed by Senior Supt. Mark Edison Belarma will be supporting the units.

Iñoza, who was the president of the Alaska Milk Workers Union (AMWU), was on board his Honda dream (TT-7553) and on his way to work when he was gunned down by four armed men at around 7:30 a.m. on Nov. 21 along Bgy. Poblacion, San Pedro, Laguna. — Ed Amoroso
