2 Chinese nationals nabbed inside shabu laboratory in Tarlac

CAMP OLIVAS, Pampanga — Combined operatives of Tarlac Provincial Intelligence & Investigation Branch (TPIIB), Provincial Anti Illegal Drugs Special Operation Task Group (PAIDSOTG), Phillippine Drug Enforcement Ageny (PDEA)3, RIO3, MIB 7ID, 313RD PMG and the Tarlac Provincial Crime Lab, over the weekend,  raided a suspected shabu laboratory in Barangay Care, Tarlac City, which resulted in the arrest of two Chinese nationals and the confiscation of chemicals, apparatus and equipment reportedly used in manufacturing shabu. 

In his report here yesterday, Senior Superintendent Nicanor Ancheta Bartolome, Tarlac Provincial director, identified the arrested suspects as Jaime Chua, 30, of Barangay Tibag and Chou Fan Yu, 50, a native of Beijing, China.

Bartolome said that the raiding team armed with search warrant no. 2006-15 issued by Judge Betty Biliran of RTC Branch 65, swooped down on the suspected shabu lab located at Villa Alicia, Barangay Care, Tarlac City, allegedly owned by Jaime Chua and Henry Chan. 

Chua and Fan Yu were arrested but Chan was not around when the raiding team arrived at the suspected shabu laboratory, he said.

The raid was witnessed by Barangay Captain Cesario Navarro and Kagawad Jack Capulong, said Bartolome.  

Recovered in the area were sodium hydroxide, 82 bottles of 500gms; barium sulfate, 18 bottles of  500gms; sodium acetate, 27 bottles 500 gms; sodium acetate tri-hydrate, two bottles of 500 gms; sodium acetate crystalize, 21 bottles of 500 gms; black powder slant carbon 23 plastic bags; sodium hydroxide, 25 kgs; nitric acid, seven bottles of 500 gms; hydrochloric acid, 13 bottles of 500 gms; iodized salt, 30 bags of one kg; double sided tape foam, four pcs. face mask, one plastic bag; 18 bosex filter paper; three rolls aluminum foil; three pcs. graduated cylinder; four pcs. filter flask; eight pcs. vacuum pump machine slant motor; four pcs. burners; one piece beaker; one piece stirring rod; four pcs. filter tunnel; four pcs. transformer; three pcs. exhaust fan; one piece plastic shovel; one piece dryer tank slant mixer; one piece speed reducer machine; two pcs. stainless boiler; two pcs gas mask; plastic container such as pails, pitchers, dippers, basins and passport of Chou Fan Yu.

Superintendent Amado Corpus, TPIIB Chief said that in a follow-up operation in Bgy. Molave, they confiscated 17 containers, 20 liters of nitric acid and 16 small plastic bottles and 100 grams of palladium chloride were discovered at the rented house of Chua.
