Road users fee in Aurora town illegal

DINALUPIHAN, Aurora The controversial municipal ordinance imposing a road users fee on vehicles passing through this town, which has led to the 60-day preventive suspension of Mayor Marilyn Marquez and Vice Mayor Virgie Callejo, is illegal and constitutes double taxation, the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) said.
The DPWH issued the clarification amid the raging controversy over the ordinance, which imposes fees ranging from P50 to P100 on heavy equipment, trucks, elf vans, forward trucks and jeepneys and buses passing the town. Manny Galvez
