Fire hits Ormoc anew
August 15, 2006 | 12:00am
ORMOC CITY City fire investigators are still conducting a thorough investigation to determine the fire that gutted Building C of the old public market Sunday afternoon.
The local fire office received an anonymous call from a woman who claimed to be an employee of the market administrators office at about 4:25 p.m. But Senior Fire Officer II Danilo Saboroso, ground leader of the responding fire bureau told The STAR that the fire spread quickly.
Initial investigation showed that the fire started at the temporary stalls for Building B stall owners who were displaced by fire in September 2004.
City Mayor Eric Codilla said the fire served as an eye opener for the city to strictly implement all laws and ordinances in the public market. Roberto Dejon
