Laguindingan airport relocation approved

CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY President Arroyo recently approved Presidential Proclamation 1099, which provided a relocation site for residents previously occupying the site of the the Laguindingan International Airport, Misamis Oriental Gov. Osacar Moreno told The STAR yesterday,
Moreno said portions of a 6.2-hectare public lands in Barangay Tubajon, Laguindingan is reserved for the project.
The area will be the site of the second phase of the relocation and resettlement of more than 600 families affected by the building of the airport project.
The local government of Laguindingan through Mayor Orville Abellanosa and the regional office of the Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR) have identified the area.
Mrs. Arroyo has tasked the local government of Laguindingan to administer and manage the project in coordination with the Department of Environment and Natural Resources region 10 (DENR 10).
