San Carlos fiscal hurt in attack

BINMALEY, Pangasinan A San Carlos City prosecutor was shot and wounded by two motorcycle-riding men while he was on his way home along the national highway here last Tuesday afternoon, police said.
Superintendent Rudolph Dimas, Binmaley police chief, said prosecutor Niño Magein Orlino, 30, was cruising Barangay Biec on his motorcycle when he was shot thrice twice in the shoulders and once in the lower abdomen.
Orlino was rushed to a hospital in Dagupan City where doctors have declared him out of danger.
Orlino, according to Dimas, had been receiving threats through text messages due to a controversial case he was handling.
Another lawyer told The STAR that Orlino expressed his apprehension a month ago about the killing of a witness in a case he was handling. With Cesar Ramirez
