Region 9 minimum wage now P215

ZAMBOANGA CITY — Workers in Region 9 (Western Mindanao) will now receive a daily minimum wage of P215, or an increase of P35 from the present P180.

Under Wage Order No. 13, Chita Celindro, regional director of the Department of Labor, said the regional tripartite wages and productivity board agreed to integrate a P15 increase and the P20 cost-of-living allowance into the daily minimum wage.

The new minimum wage will take effect after the wage new order’s 15-day publication, which began last Wednesday. — Roel Pareño
