3 killed, 4 wounded in NPA attack

Cagayan de Oro City At least three people were killed, including a soldier, while four were wounded when communist New Peoples Army (NPA) rebels attacked a family reunion gathering in San Roque, Prosperidad, Agusan the other day.
(Ret.) Lt. Col. Francisco Simbajon, of the Philippine Armys 4th Infantry division Community Relations Office, said the NPA rebels opened fire at a family reunion of the relatives of Carmelite Fr. Arnel Globode in San Roque.
The attack came after the NPA rebels warned residents not to support the military.
Killed during the firefight between the rebels and soldiers was Pfc. Alan Quimotquimot and civilians Danilo Baisak,36, and Lito Vigonte, 34.
The military said the victims were believed to be community organizers of the military. Lino De la Cruz
