CamSur keen on Japan job market

Camarines Sur is poised to take advantage of the increasing demand for skilled personnel in Japan’s medical services and information technology sectors.

Gov. Luis Raymund Villafuerte Jr. announced this after coming back from a three-day trip early this month with provincial board members and officials of the Camarines Sur Chamber of Commerce and Industry to the cities of Kobe and Kawanishi in Japan’s Hyogo Prefecture.

Aki Foundation president Akitugu Orui and Japan Nursing Service Inc. president Masaaki Hirayama hosted the trip.

The Camarines Sur delegation met with senior Japanese government and medical industry officials such as Hyogo Prefecture Governor Toshido Ido, Kobe City Mayor Taturo Yada, Kawanishi Mayor Sususmu Shibao, and Kyowa Medical’s Dr. Kenzo Kiso.

"The provincial government’s investments in human resources development, particularly in training programs geared toward ramping up global competitiveness in the fields of specialized medical services and information technology, are beginning to pay off," Villafuerte said.

He cited the fact that Camarines Sur is the first and only local government unit that offers free Level III and IV Nihongo classes to qualified applicants from Bicol and elsewhere.
