UK firm inks gold venture in Compostela

A unit of Britain’s Crew Gold Corp. said yesterday it has signed a mineral production sharing agreement with the Philippine government for a gold mining venture in Compostela Valley.

Crew’s majority-controlled Apex Mining Co. announced the Masara project to the Philippine Stock Exchange.

A second contract is still pending government approval, Apex said without providing any other details on the project. — AFP
