5 studes hurt as bus falls off cliff

SAN FERNANDO CITY — Five high school sophomores of the Paringao National High School in Bauang, La Union were seriously injured when the bus they and their classmates were riding in plunged down a 50-foot ravine here yesterday.

Reports said the driver lost control of the wheel, causing the bus to fall off the cliff in Barangay Cadaclan.

The students were on a field trip to the La Union Botanical Garden here when they met the accident.

The other students suffered bruises and minor injuries due to the fall which was mitigated by trees on the side of the cliff. — Jun Elias
