Seven killed in Cavite fire

CAMP VICENTE LIM, Laguna Seven people were killed when they were trapped in a duplex house in a subdivision in Barangay Buhay na Tubig in Imus, Cavite after a leaking liquefied petroleum gas tank exploded yesterday.
Senior Superintendent Benjardi mantele, Cavite police provincial director, identified the fatalilties as Edwin Barnes, 50; his wife Virginia, 50; and their children Angelo, 16; Gelli1, 12; and Nina Pilapil, 23; and her siblings CI, 17; and Shay, 15.
Mantele said the victims neighbors in Villa Primarosa Subdivision told arson investigators that the fire started at around 6:30 a.m. The fire quickly spread from the basement to nearby rented houses after a loud explosion was heard.
Investigators said the victims were trapped at the second floor of the establishment and were all presumed to be asleep when the accident happened. Arnell Ozaeta, AP
