3 suspects in P2.5-M Mabalacat heist fall

-
CAMP OLIVAS, Pampanga — Three suspected members of a notorious robbery-holdup gang tagged in the P2.5-milion heist in Mabalacat town last Nov. 11 were arrested in separate operations last Friday.

Superintendent Rene Ong, chief of the Criminal Investigation and Detection Unit (CIDU) of the regional police, identified the arrested suspects as Noel Maglalang, 45; Liberato de Leon Gonzales, 37; and Alvin Angeles.

A fourth suspect, a certain Erdie Peña, eluded arrest, Ong said.

The arresting team recovered P125,000 and a caliber .38 revolver from Angeles’ residence, P246,000 from Gonzales’ and several bullets from Maglalang’s in separate raids last Friday night.

The recovered cash was part of the loot the group had taken from businesswoman Cristina Perez. — Ric Sapnu
