MIG ‘asset’ shot dead in GenSan

-
KORONADAL CITY —Motorcycle-riding men killed an "asset" of the Armed Forces Military Intelligence Group (MIG) in nearby General Santos City, the police said.

Senior Superintendent Alfredo Toroctocon, General Santos City police chief, said Vicente Bontoya, also a personal bodyguard of a businessman, was found dead in Purok San Lorenzo Ruiz in Barangay Apopong at about 8 p.m. last Saturday.

Toroctocon quoted reports as saying that Bontoya was cruising the Apopong highway on his motorcycle when he was gunned down.

Bontoya died on the spot from multiple gunshot wounds in the neck and other parts of the body.

Scene-of-the-crime operatives found a MIG identification card in Bontoya’s wallet and a 9-mm pistol still tucked in his waist.

Probers were still clueless on the motive behind the killing. — Ramil Bajo
