North Cotabato councilor slain

COTABATO CITY — Heavily armed men ambushed and killed a municipal councilor popular for his crusade against crime in Magpet, North Cotabato the other day.
The fatality, Gerry Lincaro, was on his way to Kidapawan City from the town proper of Magpet on board his service vehicle when the gunmen blocked his path and opened fire, killing him on the spot.
Lincaro’s wife survived the ambush. Magpet Mayor Efren Piñol Jr. has offered a reward for any information leading to the arrest of Lincaro’s killers. — John Unson
