Attempt to burn Globe cell site foiled

CAMP VICENTE LIM, Laguna An attempt to burn a Globe cellular site was reportedly foiled after an alert security guard repelled four unidentified men believed to be members of the New Peoples Army in Barangay Suhua, Torrijos, Marinduque the other day.
Chief Superintendent Delfin Genio Jr., Mindoro, Marinduque, Romblon, Palawan (MIMAROPA) police director, said that the four men wearing military uniforms were seen roaming suspiciously around the vicinity of the installation at around 1:20 a.m. last Friday.
Three of the suspects were able to climb the perimeter fence with several cans containing gasoline in tow while another stayed back as a lookout.
The security guard, however, noticed the suspects and fired several shots. He also immediately notified the nearest police station and the military.
Cops from the Marinduque police station were immediately dispatched to the site. The suspects reportedly fled in different directions.
