CAMP VICENTE LIM, Laguna Two brothers of an Oriental Mindoro mayor and a Laguna vice mayor, together with three other men, were arrested in a drug buy-bust in a billiards hall in Alaminos town last Saturday afternoon.
Chief Inspector Julius Ceasar Ablang, deputy regional director of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA), identified those arrested as brothers Ramon and Rogel Alvarez, Bernardo Ambayec, Allan Roberto and Florencio Llamado.
In its spot report, the PDEA-Calabarzon regional office identified the Alvarezes as the siblings of Mayor Romeo Alvarez of Gloria, Oriental Mindoro, and Vice Mayor Ruben Alvarez of Alaminos, Laguna.

Ablang said one of his men acted as a poseur buyer who transacted with one of the Alvarez brothers for P100,000 worth of shabu.
Seized from the suspects were some 50 grams of shabu, a caliber .45 pistol, shabu paraphernalia and two vehicles, a Honda Civic and a Mitsubishi Lancer.
