All set for installation of new ARMM gov

SHARIFF AGUAK, Maguindanao — All is set for the Sept. 30 installation to office of incoming Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (ARMM) Gov. Zaldy Ampatuan, who would also vacate his post as mayor of this town on the same day.

Ampatuan’s legal adviser, lawyer Oscar Sampulna, who would assume the post of executive secretary of the ARMM government, said that among those invited to grace the occasion were ranking representatives of the Catholic and other sectarian organizations in the areas covered by the autonomous region.

"This is to show that Gov. Ampatuan is keen on involving all sectors in the region, regardless of religion and ethnic origins, in transforming the ARMM into an economically and politically viable region," Sampulna told The Star.

Representatives of the foreign diplomatic and donor communities have also been invited to the affair by Ampatuan and his running mate in the Aug. 8 polls, Ansarudin Adiong. — John Unson
