CIDG officer axed

BAGUIO CITY — The Abra chief of the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) was relieved from his post last week following raids on three houses in Lagayan town, including the municipal mayor’s, that resulted in the seizure of high-powered guns.

Chief Inspector Rolando Osias, who was ordered back to Baguio City, has turned over his post to Chief Inspector Wency Beswilan.

Two weeks ago, Osias, together with Abra policemen, raided three houses in Lagayan on the strength of search warrants, and seized several high-powered guns.

In the house of Mayor Cecille Seares-Luna, Osias’ group found a 12-gauge shotgun, 15 bullets and an ammunition belt. — Artemio Dumlao
