23 North Cotabato villages hit by floods

COTABATO CITY — Rivers criss-crossing North Cotabato have overflowed due to heavy rains in the past three days, causing flash floods in 23 farming villages.

North Cotabato Gov. Emmanuel Piñol said worst-hit by the flash floods were rice and corn farms in Tulunan and Kabacan towns.

Citing initial feedback from municipal officials, Piñol said the flash floods have destroyed farm-to-market roads and foot bridges connecting isolated farming communities. — John Unson
