CEBU CITY Malacañang has called for a multisectoral conference here on the destabilization moves and for the continuation of the administration of President Arroyo.
In a letter to Cebu Gov. Gwendolyn Garcia, Danilo Consumido, assistant secretary of the Office of External Affairs in Malacañang, said the conference is a joint undertaking with Lakas Pinoy Gawin Natin, a non-government organization.
The conference will be held today, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., at the Baseline restaurant here.
Consumido said the conference, which will be attended by the leaders of various peoples and non-government organizations in Cebu, will tackle the ongoing destabilization moves against the Arroyo administration.
The conference is also aimed at promoting the democratic reforms of the Arroyo administration in the light of the escalating calls for the Presidents resignation because of her alleged cheating in the last elections.
Malacañang has requested Garcia to be the keynote speaker of the conference, but she declined since she will be in the Netherlands on a two-week study tour.
