3 men injured in North Cotabato grenade blast

COTABATO CITY — Suspected extortionists hurled a grenade inside a trader’s residential compound in Pikit, North Cotabato the other day, seriously wounding three carpenters.

Lt. Col. Franklin del Prado, spokesman of the Army’s 6th Infantry Division, said two motorcycle-riding men tossed the grenade in the compound of businessman Rex Mision.

He said Mision, owner of the biggest drugstore in Pikit, received last week a letter demanding P10,000 as monthly "protection money" from him. — John Unson
