Ombudsman clears Koronadal mayor

KORONADAL CITY — The Office of the Ombudsman-Mindanao has cleared City Mayor Fernando Miguel of charges of grave misconduct and usurpation of official functions in connection with the complaint filed by the directors of the Koronadal Water District (KWD).

In a 15-page resolution, graft investigation and prosecution officer III Hilda de la Cruz-Likit said the charges that Miguel usurpated the powers and functions of the KWD board secretary when he declared vacancies in the board and made illegal appointments lacked sufficient evidence. — Ramil Bajo
