NBI confiscates P1.5-M fake products

The National Bureau of Investigation has filed charges of violations of the Intellectual Property Code against three Chinese traders whose leased warehouse in Zamboanga City yielded P1.5 million worth of counterfeit products.

Charged in the Zamboanga City prosecutor’s office were Huang Jianquian, Huang Shuyuan and Li Zhongsheng.

Assistant regional director Jose Justo Yap, of the NBI’s Intellectual Property Rights Division, said counterfeit Nescafe, Close-up and Tide products were confiscated from the traders’ warehouse on Veterans Avenue.

Meanwhile, NBI agents seized P250,000 worth of fake Reno Liver Spread from several supermarkets in Metro Manila and Southern Luzon last Friday. Evelyn Macairan
