Korean national kidnapped in Cavite?

-
Camp Vicente Lim, Laguna — Police are now investigating the whereabouts of a Korean executive after he was reported missing since Friday afternoon in Trece Martirez City, Cavite.

Regional Director Chief Superintendent Jesus Verzosa identified the victim as Gwak Nyok Hak, 53 , a contractor at the Export Processing Zone Authority (EPZA) in Rosario, Cavite and an official of the Korean Association.

According to Verzosa, a certain YB Lee, president of the Korean Association called the Cavite Provincial Police Office to inform them of the disappearance of Gwak.

The victim reportedly left his house in Barangay Daang Amaya, Tanza, Cavite together with his live-in partner, Shirley Toribio, and her mother aboard a green Honda Civic with license plate WLE-855.

Toribio said she got off at the STI Computer School in Rosario, Cavite to attend classes while her mother got off in Noveleta, Cavite. Gwak was supposed to meet another Korean in Trece Martirez town.

When Toribio arrived home at around 8 p.m., she said she tried to call Gwak but his mobile phone could not be reached. She then called his Korean friends but none knew of his whereabouts. Gwak’s car was found the following day abandoned in Barangay Cabuco, Trece Martirez City with a broken back windshield. — Arnell Ozaeta, Rene Alviar
