LUCENA CITY An alleged jueteng maintainer, together with a woman bet collector, was arrested here last Wednesday, disproving an earlier pronouncement of the Philippine National Police that Luzon had been rid of the illegal numbers game.
Senior Superintendent Leo Kison, Quezon police director, said Oscar Armamento, 61, and bet collector Leonora Sevilla, 30, were collared inside a mall in Barangay 3 while they were counting jueteng bets.
Armamento was said to be supervising a number of jueteng cabos here and in nearby towns, said Superintendent Artie Cindac, intelligence and investigation chief of the Quezon police.
Cindac, however, said Armamento has kept his silence as to who was his jueteng financier. Arnell Ozaeta
