STA ROSA CITY, Laguna A composite task force probing last Tuesdays killing of Sta. Rosa Mayor Leon Arcillas is looking into the possible involvement of politicians as the slay brains.
Senior Superintendent Federico Terte, newly appointed Laguna police director and concurrent head of the Special Investigating Task Group Arcillas, said politicians disgruntled with Arcillas administration could have tapped former communist rebels to carry out the killing.
Arcillas was felled by three bullets in the head, body and arms at the second floor of the newly built town hall.
His bodyguard, PO2 Erwin Rivera, a member of the Special Action Force based at Fort Sto. Domingo here, was also killed, while another escort, PO3 Alfred Almendraz, was critically wounded. Rene Alviar
