Squabbles eyed in NE abduction

CABANATUAN CITY — Police are looking into politics and internal squabbles within the provincial chapter of Bagong Alyansang Makabayan (Bayan) in connection with the abduction of former Bayan secretary general and presidential relative Danilo Macapagal here.

Macapagal, 50, was seized by four armed men here last March 3. Reports said he was ousted as local Bayan head and relegated to being a mere adviser due to doubts about his loyalty to the militant group. — Manny Galvez
