Girl, 8, caught in crossfire

SAN PEDRO, Laguna — An eight-year-old girl is fighting for her life after she was accidentally shot during a fight between two men here the other day.

Jeliza Traje, a Grade 2 pupil, was on her way to buy bread in Barangay Bagong Silang when she was hit in the neck.

Suspect Felton Sedillo, 33, now behind bars, shot his neighbor Celestino Baring who earlier had attacked him. Baring himself sustained gunshot wounds from a homemade shotgun in the legs. — Rene Alviar
