Bright crater glow observed at Mayon

-
LEGAZPI CITY — A bright, orange glow is observed at the crater of Mayon Volcano at night, and government volcanologists are finding out if magma or super hot molten rock is slowly moving up toward the vent.

Last Wednesday, Helma Canon, researcher of the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology, said volcanologists are conducting a ground deformation survey at the slopes of the 2,426-meter high volcano to check out any magma movements. Celso Amo
