STAR fotog wins in IYR photo tilt

STAR photographer Revoli Cortez was one of the winners of the 2004 International Year of Rice (IYR) photography contest.
Cortez bagged the second prize for his entry "Eating Time (Scavengers)." A cash prize of P15,000 went with the award.
Baguio City photographer Dave Leproza Jr. topped the photo contest, with a P25,000 cash prize, for his entry "Harvesting Rice in Sadanga, Mt. Province."
Third-placer was Reynaldo Mondez of Manila for his entry "Magtanim ay Di Biro." His cash prize was P10,000.
A total of 116 professional and amateur photographers from all over the country and one each from Indonesia and the United States took part in the photo contest, sponsored by the Los Baños, Laguna-based Asia Rice Foundation, chaired by Dr. Emil Javier, former University of the Philippines president.
